On Tuesday, July 11, the Sejong Institute held its 13th colloquium of the year on the topic of "The THAAD Issue and Directions for ROK-U.S.-China Cooperation." Moderated by Vice President Yang Un-chul, the colloquium began with the presentation from Director Cheong Seong-chang. He claimed that the South Korean government should use THAAD as a diplomatic leverage to urge China to take more active measures against North Korean nuclear and missile threat. The participants had time evaluating comprehensively the costs and benefits of THAAD deployment and policy recommendations on ROK-U.S.-China cooperation.
