On September 6, 2016, the Sejong Institute invited Prof. Sangbae Kim from Seoul National University and held the 24th Colloquium on the subject of ROK’s Public Diplomacy. At the colloquium, moderated by Vice President Un-Chul Yang, Prof. Kim analyzed the concept of Public Diplomacy and characteristics of the Public Diplomacy Act, initiated in August, and discussed the direction that ROK Public Diplomacy should be headed. In the following discussion, Dr. Jung-Yeop Woo from the Asan Institute for Policy Studies participated as a designated discussant and shared his views on major powers’ public diplomacy and addressed the importance of developing public diplomacy policies that last not just for one or two presidential terms but for many years after.
