At the Sejong Institute's first colloquium of 2024, held on Tuesday, January 9th, Seong-Chang Cheong, Director of Center for Korean Peninsula Strategy presented on "North Korea's 8th and 9th Plenary Sessions of the Party Central Committee and the Transformation of the Strategy against South Korea."

The discussion was moderated by Jung sup Kim, Vice President of the Sejong Institute.

The colloquium focused on the fundamental reorientation of North Korea's policy toward the South announced during the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea from December 26 to 30, 2023.

The discussion evaluated North Korea's new line and strategy toward the South Korea, and discussed in depth the future situation on the Korean Peninsula and the government's response based on North Korea's trends since the last Plenary Session.
