English Abstract

This article delves into the current chaotic situation of the U.S. domestic politics and analyzes how the political partisanship of electorate and the administration is taking shapes. In particular, this article focuses on the possible implications of the issue of racial inequality, which the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) crisis and the death of George Floyd have triggered, to the upcoming 2020 presidential election. As the alienated voters in the Rust Belt played an important role in the past 2016 election, the issue of racial inequality may function as a critical political dividing line in the course of 2020 election.
