78th UN General Assembly Leaders' Debate: Reconstruction of Trust and Reignition of Unity

At another inflection point in human history, this paper briefly reviews the main points made in the annual Great Debate, in which 136 leaders and 40 cabinet members discussed "Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Solidarity" for six days from September 19 to 23 and 26. Above all, Secretary-General António Guterres's warning of the division was expressed in his opening speech, and comparing the positions of the leaders of three countries, the U.S., China, and Russia, which are considered to be global geopolitical competitors, on major global issues, and lastly, the opinions and suggestions of South Korea becoming one of the 10 non-permanent members of the U.N. Security Council in 2024-25.
