With the success of the third launch of the Nuri rocket and the success of the lunar probe Danuri, South Korea has become the world's 7th space development country. Across the world, great innovations and changes are made in the commercialization of space, the militarization of space, manned space exploration, and the utilization of space resources called New Space. In addition, the localization between the West, centered on the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and the non-Western world, centered on China and Russia is expected to intensify. For Korea to lead a space development program in the future, it is necessary to further strengthen space cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. based on the Washington Declaration, which was the result of the last Korea-U.S. summit.
