French riot that began last month due to police manslaughter has given a shock throughout the world. A direct factor in the incident is the long confrontation between police and youth in the slum. In addition, structurally accumulated inequality and discrimination in French society, combined with a unique historical and cultural background encourages resistance and attack, resulting in explosive results. Rather than rejecting immigration itself or criticism of certain religions and cultures, it is necessary to objectively analyze why France has failed to integrate socially despite its relatively favorable immigration policy.
