This paper will look at the significance and core agenda of the APEC summit in the United States in November 2023. Hence, this paper will look at what challenges APEC and regional systems are facing and how they should be reorganized in the current intensified confrontation between the U.S. and China. APEC, a multilateral organization with a particularly long history and the largest number of participants in the Asia-Pacific region, needs to be transformed into a place of cooperation to manage uncertainty in U.S.-China strategic confrontation, build trust, and supply global public goods, and mid-sized countries such as Korea need to play an active role in this institutional transition.
