The recent moves related to Japan by the government show that Korea's policy toward Japan has been established in an embrace strategy. For example, not only the solution to the forced labor issue announced by Jin Park, Minister of Foreign Affairs on March 6, but also a commemorative speech by the President on March 1st, remarks at the joint press conference after the Korea-Japan summit on March 16, and the "National Speech to People" presented at the Cabinet meeting on March 21st that policy is to be normalized into a future-oriented perspective, and the solution for the forced labor is also a decision in that respect. This move can be summarized as an engagement policy for Japan, and this briefly examines the contents of Korea-Japan relations and Korea's policy toward Japan, the background, and the future task.
