English Abstract

The key policy issues for the international trade sector that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration must actively resolve from the beginning of his administration are whether to join the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which has proposed a policy direction of restoring the Korea-U.S. alliance, should actively participate in IPEF and CPTPP, which are emerging as core trade and economic cooperation bodies in East Asia and the Pacific region. The Yoon Seok-yeol administration will have to preemptively respond to the process of establishing international norms so that our position can be reflected in the two consultative bodies, which will be the venue for establishing new norms in areas such as digital trade, labor, environment, competition, supply chain, infrastructure.
