English Abstract
Amid growing instability in the Taiwan Strait, a storm is raging after U.S. House Speaker Pelosi's visit to Taiwan. China strongly protested and conducted extensive military exercises to block Taiwan. The exercise demonstrated China's intention to set new standards for cross-strait relations as a preliminary exercise for Taiwan's reunification. In response, the U.S. is expected to stabilize the crisis situation in the Taiwan Strait and carry out military measures to demonstrate its security commitments. South Korea should seek countermeasures, noting that the security situation of the Taiwan Strait is closely linked to its national strategic goal of peace and prosperity.
