English Abstract

The Biden administration's policy toward North Korea is the biggest concern to South Korea, but the establishment of a united front with China will be a major pillar for the Biden government's diplomacy in early 2021. In particular, military threats of China are evaluated as a process of increasing existential threats in the U.S. military. Therefore, the U.S. government already has a budget allocation process, and political appointees shared this perception of threat to China. Such hard-line defense and security policies towards China are likely to be reinforced than they are now. It seems that the U.S. defense policy towards China has already entered the stage of materialization and budget allocation and beyond sharing this perception.
