English Abstract

The 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) adopted the Glasgow Climate Pact, reached meaningful agreements on financial resources, greenhouse gas reduction, and international cooperation, and negotiated the implementation of the Paris Agreement. The implementation of the new climate system is expected to begin in 2022. With the goal of neutralizing carbon by 2050 and raising the national reduction target by 2040, Korea needs to establish and refine its decarbonization plan, strengthen energy security, and re-evaluate the role of nuclear power.
