The Sejong Institute held the inauguration ceremony of the new President Hyun-Wook Kim on July 1, 2024. 

Dr. Kim Hyun-wook, the 12th President of the Sejong Institute, holds a Ph.D. in political science from Brown University, and has served as a visiting professor at UC San Diego, a visiting professor at George Washington University, a professor at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, and a director of the Department of North American and European Studies.

He is currently a Non-executive Director of the Korea Foundation​, member of the Committee in The Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, Policy Advisor at Office of National Security, and President of The Korean Association of Area Studies​
