This research aims to suggest what Korea's regional security strategies of Northeast Asia 

should be by forecasting security situations of Northeast Asia in 2020. First part of this 

research analyzes Northeast Asian security situation from perspectives of the US, China and 

Japan respectively. Second part suggests building a tripartite cooperative mechanism which 

would be a strategy for regional security cooperation. Secret to dealing with Northeast Asian 

security situation in year 2020 lies within how Korea would maintain its status and establish 

a role in this very situation while promoting bilateral cooperative relations with the powerful 

nations.
