This book was written to outline the theoretical framework for overcoming division on the Korean Peninsula and unification, while also illustrating the historic experiences. For this purpose, the writer has analyzed the structure of division and the concept of unification; while connecting the discussion on unification with the current situation; with focus on the theory behind North Korea's South Korea policy. The book also looks into the hostile but dependent inter-Korean relations during the Cold War era and how the mirror image effect has affected one another's regime and way of life. Lastly, the road to peaceful unification was examined through gradual strategy, discussion on constructing a peaceful regime on the Korean Peninsula, and seeking the path for peaceful unification. In conclusion, I hope that this methodology for unification will be utilized by university students and government officials.
