On upcoming November 20, “2019 Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP)” will be held at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, DC. The sessions include a closed session with the title of “U.S.-DPRK Negotiations: Issues and Strategies” and two open sessions with the title of “Denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and Establishing a Peace Regime” and “Current Status and Prospects of a Peace Economy on the Korean Peninsula” respectively. This Forum is hosted by the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and jointly organized by the Sejong Institute and the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP).
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, KGFP aims to promote international consensus on peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and to raise support for the South Korean government’s North Korea and unification policies as well as search for better policy alternatives. It is a 1.5 track international multilateral consultation platform that includes current and former government officials and experts. The Forum in Washington, DC was preceded by the events in Seoul on June 19, in Tokyo on July 16, in Moscow on September 20, and in Beijing on October 10.
