SUBJECT: The Future of Post Kim Jong-il North Korea Regime and Our Response

On December 26, 2011, the Sejong Institute held an Urgent Specialist Meeting titled "The Future of Post Kim Jong-il North Korea Regime and Our Response". The meeting began with the Sejong Foundation Chairman Kwon Chul Hyun's welcoming remarks and proceeded in two panels. The first panel was moderated by the Sejong Institute's Director of Unification Strategy Studies, Yang Un-Chul and included presentations by Senior Research Fellow Cheong Seong-Chang on "The Power Structure of Kim Jong-un's Regime and the Power Elite", Senior Research Fellow Lee Tai-Hwan on "The Foreign Relations of North Korea", and Director Yang Un-Chuls on "The Economic and Social Trend in North Korea". The second panel was moderated by the Sejong Institute's President Song Dae Sung and open-ended discussion was conducted with representatives from the academia and media.
