2023 Korea-Europe Peace Forum

On July 3, 4 , 2023, the Sejong Institute hed a 2023 Korea-Europe Peace Forum in Frei Universität Berlin, Berlin, Germany. The conference was sponsored by the Gyeonggi Province and was under the theme of "Peaceful Coexistence and Prosperity in the Era of Uncertainties: Promoting Europe-South Korea Cooperation in Crisis Management" with presentations and discussions for one and a half days. Sang-Hyun Lee, the President of the Sejong Institute headed the Korean side, and Eunjung Lee, a professor at the Center for Korean Studies at the Frei Universität Berlin chaired the German side.

 

About 30 European experts on the Korean Peninsula attended the meeting were almost all of Europe's experts were on the Korean Peninsula. Wolfgang Nowak, International Advisor at Sejong Institute, John Nilsson-Wright, Professor at Cambridge University and an official fellow at Darwin College, Timo Kivimäki, Professor of International Relations at the University of Bath from UK, Niklas Swanström, Director of the Institute for Security and Development Policy from Sweden, Ramon Pacheco Pardo, KF-VUB Korea Chair at the Brussels School of Governance of Vrije Universiteit Brussel and other European experts have participate the Forum.

 

On the Korean side, Sang-Hyun Lee, President of Sejong Institute​, Jungsup Kim, Vice President of Sejong Institute, Yoonjung Choi research fellow, Jae-hung Chung research fellow, Sungwon Lee research fellow, Dongmin Lee visiting research fellow, Jungkun visiting research fellow, Sangdoo Ko professor of Yonsei University, and Dr. Dukryong Yoon Advisory to the Governor at Gyeonggi Province and Kyu-Jung Lee, an assistant deputy director attended the Forum​
