On September 27th Wednesday, at the Sejong Institute's 16th Colloquium of 2023, Chang Soo Jin, Director of the Center for Japanese Studies at Sejong Institute, presented the theme of "Indo-Pacific Strategy and Korea-Japan Cooperation"

 

This discussion was hosted by Yoon Jung Choi, Director of the Center for Indo-Pacific Studies at Sejong Institute.

 

Recently, as U.S.-China relations have been conflicting with each other, the Colloquium aimed to seek the background and the true purpose of the U.S., and China's perception and response strategy for "derisking", indicating the two different positions and strategy.

 

The colloquium was made focusing on the current status and direction of improvement in Korea-Japan relations and the link between the policy toward Japan and the Indo-Pacific strategy.

 

It also focused on the tasks of security cooperation between South Korea, the U.S. and Japan and the direction of policy toward Japan.

 

Participants discussed cooperation measures and diplomatic and security issues from various perspectives based on Korea-Japan relations at current status.
