2016 14th Colloquium

On Friday, May 13, 2016, the Sejong Institute held its 14th Colloquium this year on the subject of "North Korea's 7th Workers' Party Congress: Assessment and Predictions." The Colloquium was moderated by Vice President Sang Hyun Lee of the Research Planning Division and, Dr. Seong-chang Cheong (Director of the Department of Unification Strategy Studies), Dr. Un-Chul Yang (Vice President), and Dr. Haksoon Paik (Vice President for the Training and Education Division) presented on the topics of "Assessing DPRK's 7th Congress of Workers' Party: Ramifications of the Change in Political Elites," "Analyzing DPRK's Economic Policy After the 7th Party Congress," and "Assessing DPRK's 7th Party Congress: North Korea's Foreign Policy, Inter-Korean Policy, and Nuclear Program," respectively. Chairman Joon-woo Park, President Chang Soo Jin and other research fellows from the institute participated in the colloquium for active discussions on a variety of issues related to the recent 7th Workers' Party Congress held in North Korea, the future of inter-Korean relations, different positions and perspectives of the major powers, and the security and diplomatic relations in Northeast Asia.
