On Monday, July 11, 2016, the Sejong Institute held the 19^th Colloquium (a closed session) of the year to discuss “Analysis of 2016 Japanese House of Councillors Election: Factors and Impacts.” Based on our recent Overseas Research in Tokyo, Japan, on July 6-9, Dr. Myon woo Lee, Director of Diplomatic Strategy Department, presented on the results of this year’s Japanese House of Councillors election, factors that contributed to the results, and his analysis on how the results will influence Abe and his cabinet in making policies and managing the government.
