On June 23, 2015, the Sejong Institute invited Prof. Chang-hee Park from the Korea National Defense Academy, and Dr. Chang hoon Shin, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, and held the 6th Colloquium on the following subjects: 1. Background of the Maritime Territorial Dispute in South China Sea 2. China’s Oil Drilling in Vietnamese Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) 3. China’s Establishment of Manmade Island in Spratly Island 4. Reactions and Prospects of the United States and Neighboring Countries. 5. Prospects and ROK’s Response Direction Attendees of the discussion examined these issues from various perspectives and aspects, including a view from international law.
