August 18, 2015, the Sejong Institute invited Yang Hyun Cho, Professor of the Korea National Diplomacy Academy, and held the 10th Colloquium on the Abe Statement. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Soung Chul Kim and attended by the research fellows of the Sejong Institute. Participants exchanged their opinions on the positive and negative aspects of the Abe Statement, shared their analysis, and discussed measures to elicit policy considerations for the improvement of the ROK-Japan Relations. The discussion on the Abe Statement, which was closely watched in South Korea, continued in a heated atmosphere, as this year marks the 70th anniversary of independence.
