On Monday, July 4, 2016, the Sejong Institute held this year’s 18
th Colloquium on the subject of “The Implications of Brexit: An International Security Perspective.” The Colloquium was moderated by Sang Hyun Lee, our Vice President of Research Planning Division, and featured presentations by Heungchong Kim, Senior Research Fellow at Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), on “The Impacts of Brexit in the International Economy and the Future Prospects,” Sangtu Ko, Professor at Yonsei University, on “The Implications of Brexit in International Economy and Security Perspectives,” and Hae-Won Jun, Assistant Professor at Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), on “The Impacts of Brexit in International Security and the Prospects.” Our Senior Research Fellows, Kisoo Kim, Un-Chul Yang, and Hyun-ik Hong, participated as designated discussants and exchanged views with the presenters on the reasons for UK’s withdrawal from the EU, the impacts of Brexit on economy and security, and their future outlooks.
