From November 27 to November 30, Sejong Institute held discussions in Beijing, China, with experts from key Chinese foreign policy and security research institutions, including the China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies. The topics covered included changes in US-China relations following the November US presidential election, the situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula, and ways to enhance cooperation in China-South Korea relations.
Sejong Institute visited the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, National Institute of International Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. They approached and analyzed from various perspectives whether there would be changes in U.S. foreign policy following the November U.S. presidential election and the inauguration of the Trump administration. Under President Trump's 'America First' policy, there would not only be significant changes in the international order but also direct impacts on U.S.-China relations, China-South Korea relations, and U.S.-South Korea relations
