On July 13th Tuesday, at the Sejong Institute's 13th Colloquium of 2023, Sandip Kumar Mishra, a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Yoon jung Choi, Director of the Sejong Institute's Department of Diplomatic Strategy Studies, presented the theme of "India-South Korea Relations in Changing India-Pacific: Obstacles and Beyond"
In the colloquium, relations between two counties are becoming more impartant in this era where the Indo-Pacific strategy is expanding.
Three principles of Korea's Indo-Pacific Stategy, "Inclusiveness", "Trust", and "Reciprocity", it suggested that both should recognize each other as strategic partners and improve comprehensive relationships covering economic, political, and social areas.
As a strategic partner, Korea emphasized the need for cooperation principles designed for India, especially extending bilateral diplomacy to regional diplomacy and a systematic mid-long term cooperation strategy tailored to India's future potential in the short-term market-oriented profit and loss approach, suggesting the possibility that Korea and India could move toward a relationship of mutual benefit.
