On Friday, July 14, the 22nd ROK-Japan Policy Dialogue was held in Tokyo as an event organized by the Center for Japan Studies of the Sejong Institute and sponsored by the foreign ministry of the two countries, Republic of Korea and Japan. This dialogue was intended to seek directions for ROK-Japan security cooperation in times of changing Japanese politics, review the policies on each other, and strengthen ROK-Japan security cooperation and ROK-Japan policy community network. A number of experts and government officials from both South Korea and Japan, including President Jin Chang Soo and Vice President for Research Planning Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute, and Professor Kimiya Tadashi of Tokyo University, participated in the dialogue, discussed the response measures to North Korean nuclear and missile development, and the possibility of ROK-Japan cooperation, presented policy recommendations on ROK-Japan relations.
