On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, the Sejong Institute held a roundtable discussion with the Latvian delegation including MP Ojārs Ēriks Kalniņš (Chairman of Committee on Foreign Affairs at Saeima (Latvian Parliament)) and Latvian Ambassador Pēteris Vaivars to the Republic of Korea. The roundtable was arranged thanks to Chairman Kalniņš, who was invited by the Korean National Assembly and wished to visit Korea’s leading ‘private foreign and security think-tank.’ Moderated by the institute’s Vice President Un-Chul Yang, the meeting comprehensively addressed the Northeast Asian political landscape including the North Korean issue and the recent European/Russian politics, Latvia’s major diplomatic area of interest with participants including Sang Hyun Lee, Kisoo Kim, and Seong-Hyon Lee from the institute.
