On Monday, September 19, 2016, the Sejong Institute held bilateral consultations with the Atlantic Council on the theme of “Northeast Asia Security Initiative: A Multilateral Dialogue among Five Parties U.S.-Korea Bilateral Design Consultations.”
Korean delegation consisting 12 experts and government officials including Sang Hyun Lee, Sejong Institute Vice President for Research, Kang Choi, Vice President of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, and Sung-hwan Lee from ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Eight research fellows from Atlantic Council including Robert Manning participated in the consultation. Comprised of five sessions, the consultation was a venue to have in-depth discussions on the current situation in Northeast Asia, speculations on the future scenarios on the Korean Peninsula and the variables and approaches for crisis management.
