On Thursday, May 26, 2016, the Sejong Institute participated in the Jeju Forum for Peace & Prosperity 2016 and held an afternon session conference on the subject of "Building 1.5 Track Network for the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative."
The conference began with Chairman Joon-woo Park's welcoming remarks and a keynote speech given by Deputy Foreign Minister Hyung-jin Kim. During the discussion, participants including President Chang Soo Jin and Vice President Sang Hyun Lee of the Research Planning Division talked about a variety of issues related to diplomatic, nuclear technology, and environmental cooperation networks in both domestic and international environments. The panelists also made assessments and suggestions for future engagement and continuous efforts at building a comprehensive web of public-private networks in order to help achieve the goals set forth by the NAPCI.
The Jeju Forum attempts to build a foundation of successful public-private networks in order to promote goals of the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative and prepare for a successful NAPCI forum scheduled for October this year. For more information, please refer to the attached file.
