Third Policy Forum of 2022

On April 20, 2022 (Wednesday),​ the Sejong Institute held the Third Policy Forum under the theme of “The direction and challenges of rebuilding the Korea-U.S. alliance” at the Somerset Palace Seoul Seminar room. 

 

The forum began with the opening speech of President Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute. Choi Yoon JungDirector of the Department of Diplomatic Strategy Studies of the Sejong Institute, moderated sessions. In the first session, Professor Kim Hyun wook of Korea National Diplomatic Academy​, Professor Lee Hye-jung of Chung-Ang University, and Professor Joo Jae-woo of Kyung Hee University presented under the theme of "The direction of the new government 'comprehensive Korea-U.S. strategic alliance'." In the second session, Professor Kim Dong-yeop of University of North Korean Studies, Lee Jae-hyun, Research Fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, and Professor Lee Seung-joo of Chung-Ang University, presented under the theme of "The new government's pending issues and challenges in the Korea-U.S. alliance," and presenters and debaters​ had heated discussions.

Kim Jungsup, vice president of the Sejong Institute, participated as an observer and led to a broader discussion.
