[Sejong Policy Forum]

Second Sejong Policy Forum of 2021

On March 24th, the Sejong Institute held its second Sejong Policy Forum on the topic of “China's Yanghui: analysis and prospects” at the Somerset Palace located in Seoul.

 

The forum started with the opening speech of President Paik Haksoon of the Sejong Institute. Lee Daewoo, Vice President for Research Planning of the Sejong Institute, moderated sessions. Yang Pyoung Seob, a senior researcher at Korea Institute for International Economic Policy and Kim Suhan, a researcher at the Incheon Development Institute, discussed the theme of "COVID-19 and China's Economic Recovery" during the first session. During the second session, Ahn Chi young, professor at Incheon University, and Lee Jung Nam, professor at Korea University discussed about "20th party convention and the continuing issue of Xi Jinping's one-man central system". During the third session, Chung jae-hung, Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, and Lee Dong Min, a professor at Danguk University, discussed about "China's key interests and U.S.-China strategic competition."

 

In addition to the planned topic, the forum also held in-depth discussions on "the results and implications of Alaska's 'high-level U.S.-China talk'" that was held on March 18 (local time).
