The Sejong Institute held its 8th Policy Symposium on November 21, 2011, with Dr. Eduardo Viola. Dr. Viola presented on "International Relations in South America". Dr. Viola's informative presentation included information on (1) South America's regional economic integration, the position of individual countries and problems; (2) Politics and security relations between nations in South America; (3) Transnational crime situation and issues (narcotics, human trafficking, money laundering, etc); (4) The changing position and policy on energy and climate change; (5) Brazil's foreign policy and energy development. The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session between participants of the 8th Policy Symposium.
