On September 8, 2015, the Sejong Institute invited three US scholars, Alastair Smith, Professor of Politics at New York University, Gene Park, Professor of Political Science at Loyola Marymount University, and Carla Freeman, Professor of Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies, and held a seminar to promote ROK public diplomacy and enhance ties with the United States.   
The seminar was attended by research fellows of the Sejong Institute and guest discussants, Prof. Jae-chul Kim from the Catholic University, Prof. Jaehan Kim from the Hallim University, and Vice President Ho-chul Lee from the University of Incheon.
