The 36th Sejong National Strategy Form: Political Circumstance surrounding the Korean Peninsula in 2019 and South Korea’s Strategy in 2020

On December 3, 2019, the Sejong Institute held the 36th Sejong National Strategy Forum jointly with the Presidential Committee on Policy Planning on the topic of “Political Circumstance surrounding the Korean Peninsula in 2019 and South Korea’s Strategy in 2020.” The forum began with the introductory remarks by President Paik Haksoon of the Sejong Institute and Chairperson Jung Hae-gu of the Presidential Committee on Policy Planning and the congratulatory remarks by Chairman Baek Jong-chun of the Sejong Institute. The forum comprised of three sessions, each with the title of “Denuclearization Negotiation and Inter-Korean Relations,” “South Korea’s Strategy toward the U.S. and Japan,” “South Korea’s Strategy toward China and Russia.” The forum ended with policy recommendations for the current administration based on the discussion of former sessions.
