First Sejong Policy Forum of 2022

The Sejong Institute held its first Policy Forum on the topic of “Controversy and Implications of Ukraine” at the Somerset Palace located in Seoul on February 23 (Wednesday). The forum began with the opening speech of President Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute. Lee Daewoo, Director of the Department of Security Strategy Studies of the Sejong Institute, moderated sessions. Kim Young-ho, a professor at National Defense University, Seo Dongju, vice president of Korea Eurasian Policy Institute, and Lee Soohyung, Senior Researcher at Institute for National Security Strategy, discussed the theme of “The Causes and Issues of Ukraine” during the first session. During the second session, Shin Beom-Shik, a professor at Seoul National University, Ko Jae-nam, Director General of Korea Eurasian Policy Institute, and Eom Gu Ho, a professor at Hanyang University, discussed under the theme of "International Politics, Geopolitics, and Geoeconomy of Ukraine." Observers of the forum included Kim Jungsup, vice president of the Sejong Institute, Cheong Seong-Chang, Director of the Center for North Korean Studies of the Sejong Institute, Kim Jinmin, research fellow of the Sejong Cybersecurity Center, Jun Bong-geun, a professor at Korea National Diplomatic Academy, and Choi Chan-kyung, Assistant Deputy Director of National Assembly Secretariat.
