The 23rd ROK-Japan Policy Dialogue

On Thursday, March 8, the Sejong Institute, with the sponsorship of ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held the 23rd ROK-Japan Policy Dialogue in Hongchun County. The dialogue is to seek directions for ROK-Japan security cooperation in accordance with changes in Japanese politics, review the mid-to-long term policy on each other, and strengthen bilateral policy network. The participants, including President Jin Chang Soo (the Sejong Institute), Research Fellow Chung Jae Hung (the Sejong Institute), Research Fellow Woo Jung-Yeop (the Sejong Institute), Professor Koh You-hwan (Dongguk University), Professor Jo Yanghyeon (Korea National Diplomatic Academy), Professor Kimiya Tadashi (University of Tokyo), government officials from two countries, and others, discussed the issues surrounding the Trump administration’s East Asia policy and the ‘comfort women’ issue and historical issues in the ROK-Japan relations and had time to put forth policy suggestions.
