2016 10th Sejong Policy Forum

On Friday, October 28, the Sejong Institute held the 10th Sejong Policy Forum of the year on the topic of “Political Landscape Outlook of 2017(1) - Great Power Relations and Tasks for South Korean Diplomacy.” In the first session, Nam Hoon Cho (Senior Research Fellow, Korea Institute for Defense Analyses), Sangtu Ko (Professor, Yonsei University), Yanghyeon Jo (Professor, Institute for Foreign Affairs and National Security), and Dong Ryul Lee (Professor, Dongduk Women's University) presented on “"Revival of Geopolitics/Evaluation of Great Power Politics.” In the following session, Tae-hyun Kim (Professor, Chung-Ang University) and Boem Chul Shin (Research Fellow, Korea Institute for Defense Analyses), gave a presentation on “Great Power Politics and Tasks for South Korea's Diplomacy.”

 

The presentations were complemented by profound discussions of eight discussants, including Prof. Jae-cheol Kim at Catholic University of Korea, Prof. Young-June Park at Korea National Defense University  and Dr. Jung-Yeop Woo, Director of the Center for Security Policy at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, on prospecting international politics in 2017 and tasks for South Korean diplomacy. ​
