In attempt to coordinate more closely between the relevant policy think tanks and facilitate research exchange and information sharing, President Chang Soo Jin of the Sejong Institute invited President Seong Ok Yoo of Institute for National Security Strategy, Chancellor Duk-Min Yun of Korea National Diplomatic Academy, and President Jinwook Choi of Korea Institute for National Unification to discuss about the possible areas of cooperation between the four institutions and officially institutionalize and systemize such a dialogue amongst the aforementioned policy institutes.

In this regard, the Sejong Dialogue aims to help contribute to the formation of practical policy solutions by offering more timely suggestion and recommendation to the relevant government agencies.

At the first Sejong Dialogue, the participants agreed on the necessity and value of research collaboration on the pressing issues concerning foreign policy, national security, and unification strategies of the Republic of Korea and discussed about the possible areas of inter-institutional cooperation and exchange.
