2018 Seoul-Washington Forum

On October 16, the Sejong Institute held the 2018 Seoul-Washington Forum at Council on Foreign Relations in Washington D.C. With the Denuclearization and the Future of the Korean Peninsula as the topic, the forum began with keynote speeches by Deputy Assistant Secretary for North Korea Alex Wong of the U.S. State Department and ROK Ambassador to the U.S. Cho Yoon-je. From the Korean side, participants were Sejong fellows including The Sejong Institute’s Chairman Baek Jong-chun and President Paik Haksoon, Director Park Jee-Kwang of the Center for American Studies at the Sejong Institute, Director Lee Seong-hyon of Department of Unification Strategy Studies, Director Woo Jung-Yeop of Department of Security Strategy Studies and Professor Kim Joonhyung of Handong Global University, Professor Lee Geun of Seoul National University, and former ROK Ambassador to Russia Wi Sung-lac. The U.S. side consisted of CFR Senior Vice President James Lindsay, Professor Robert Gallucci of Georgetown University, and former acting assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Evans Revere, among others.
