On Monday, April 9, the Sejong Institute
held the first special session for the Sejong Policy Forum on the topic of
“Applying the ‘Libya Model’ to the North Korean Nuclear Issue and Its Limits.”
Professor In Nam-sik of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy and Dr. Cha
Du-Hyeogn of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies presented on “In-depth
Analysis and Evaluation of the ‘Libya Model’” respectively and Senior Fellow
Jang Ji-Hyang of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies and Research Fellow Lee
Ho Ryoung of the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses presented on “Assessing
the Possibility of Applying the ‘Libya Model’ to the North Korean Nuclear
Issue.”
The Forum brought together Senior Fellow
Shin Beomchul (Asan Institute for Policy Studies), Vice President Choi Kang
(Asan Institute for Policy Studies), Research Fellows Park Jee Kwang, Woo
Jung-Yeop, Lee Seong-hyon, and Chung Jaehung along with Director Cheong
Seong-Chang of the Sejong Institute. The participants discussed the possibility
of taking the ‘Libya model’ as a solution to the North Korean nuclear issue.
