On May 26, 2023 (Fri), President Sang-hyun Lee visited Shandong University School of Northeast Asia Studies to sign an academic exchange agreement (MOU) and attended an academic meeting.  

Many experts on the U.S.-China relations and the Korean Peninsula attended the conference, including Shao Jinping, Vice President of Shandong University, Gung Hai, Director of Shandong University's foreign academic exchange and cooperation, Liu Changming, Vice President of Shandong University's Northeast Asia Styudies. The conference mainly discussed about the U.S.-China relationship, the international situation, and the status of the Korean Peninsula. 

Jungsup Kim (Vice president of the Sejong Institute), Jae-hung Cheong (Director for Department of Chinese Studies), Kyubeom Kim (Visiting Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute), Wanghee Lee, Professor at Ajou University, Dong-min Lee Professor at Dankook University, and Gongkeyu, head of the Asia-Pacific Research Department also attended the conference​
