On November 20, “Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP) 2019” was held at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC, under the title of “Envisioning a Peace Regime Process for the Korean Peninsula.” The Forum was hosted by the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and jointly organized by the Sejong Institute and the USIP.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, KGFP aims to promote international consensus on peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and to raise support for the South Korean government’s North Korea and unification policies as well as search for better policy alternatives. It is a 1.5 track international multilateral consultation platform that includes current and former government officials and experts. The Forum in Washington, DC was preceded by the events in Seoul on June 19, in Tokyo on July 16, in Moscow on September 20, and in Beijing on October 10.
