On April 20, 2022 (Wednesday),​ the Sejong Institute held the Third Policy Forum under the theme of “The direction and challenges of rebuilding the Korea-U.S. alliance​​” at the Somerset Palace Seoul Seminar room. 

The forum began with the opening speech of President Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute. Choi Yoon Jung​, Director of the Department of Diplomatic Strategy Studies​ of the Sejong Institute, moderated sessions. In the first session, Professor Kim Hyun wook of Korea National Diplomatic Academy​​​, Professor Lee Hye-jung of Chung-Ang University, and Professor Joo Jae-woo of Kyung Hee University presented under the theme of "The direction of the new government 'comprehensive Korea-U.S. strategic alliance'." In the second session, Professor Kim Dong-yeop of University of North Korean Studies, Lee Jae-hyun, Research Fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, and Professor Lee Seung-joo of Chung-Ang University, presented under the theme of "The new government's pending issues and challenges in the Korea-U.S. alliance," and presenters and debaters​ had heated discussions.​

Kim Jungsup, vice president of the Sejong Institute, participated as an observer and led to a broader discussion.
