December 15, 2022, the Sejong Institute held the Indo-Pacific Roundtable with the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Korea(EEAS). The Roundtable was attended by Sang Hyun Lee, President of the Sejong Institute, and numerous ambassadors from the EU, including EU Ambassador Maria Castillo Fernandez, Ambassador Richard Tibbels(EU Indo-Pacific Strategy), and Ambassador Michael Pulch(EEAS). Korean specialists included Chang Beom Kim(former Ambassador of the Korean Embassy to Belgium and the EU), Yoon Jung Choi(Center for Indo-Pacific Studies, the Sejong Institute), Hye Won Jeon(Korea National Diplomatic Academy), Jae Jeok Park(Hankuk University of Foreign Studies), Jungsup Kim(Vice President, the Sejong Institute), Myon Woo Lee(Vice President, the Sejong Institute), Dukki Kim(Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy), Joo Hyun Park(Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy), etc. Ambassador Pulch presented “Coordinated Maritime Presence in the North Western Indian Ocean (CMP NWIO)”, and Korean participants introduced South Korea’s Indo-Pacific Maritime Strategies, followed by measures of cooperation for Maritime Security between South Korea and the EU.
