January 10, 2023, the Sejong Institute co-hosted the 28th Sejong-CICIR Joint Web Conference with the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) at the international conference room, under the theme “The new political landscape in Northeast Asia and South Korea-China Relations”.

The conference set off with the remarks of Hu Jiping, Vice President of CICIR and the speech of Sang Hyun Lee, President of the Sejong Institute.

The first session was presided over by Jungsup Kim, Vice President of the Sejong institute. Under the theme “Possibility of a new political landscape in Northeast Asia”, Seong-Chang Cheong, Director of the Department of Unification Strategy Studies and Fan Xiaoju, Director of the Institute of Northeast Asian Studies presented and all participants took part in the discussion.

The second session was presided over by Hu Jiping, Vice President of CICIR. Under the theme “South Korea and China relations in the Yoon Seok-Yeol Government”, Chen Xianyang, Director of the Center for Korean Peninsula Studies of CICIR and Jae-hung Chung, Research Fellow of the Sejong Institute presented, followed by a discussion from all participants.
