On Thursday, December 22, 2016, the Sejong Institute and the Association of North Korean Studies held an academic conference on the topic of "Seeking directions of development followed by the inauguration of the Trump administration." Moderated by Vice President Un-Chul Yang, the participants including Boem-chul Shin of Korea Institute for Defense Analyses and In-ae Hyun of Korea Institute for National Unification prospected the new U.S. administration's North Korea policy and analyzed the international pressure on North Korea and the regime's resilience along with the North Korea threat.
