On September 20, “2019 Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP)” was held at Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), Moscow, Russia, under the title of “Denuclearization and Peace Settlement on the Korean Peninsula and the ROK-Russia Cooperation.” The Forum was hosted by the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and jointly organized by the Sejong Institute and RIAC.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, KGFP aims to promote international consensus on peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and to raise support for the South Korean government’s North Korea and unification policies as well as search efforts for better policy alternatives. It is a 1.5 track international multilateral consultation platform that includes current and former government officials and experts. The Forum in Moscow was preceded by the events in Seoul and Tokyo on June 19 and July 16, respectively, and is scheduled to be continued in China in October and in Washington D.C., the United States, in November this year.
