Seventh Policy Forum of 2021

On September 23rd, the Sejong Institute held its seventh Policy Forum on the topic of “Cybersecurity and International Cooperation​" at the Sejong Institute. The Forum was held at the Somerset Palace, Seoul​. 

 

The forum began with the opening speech of President Lee Sang Hyun of the Sejong Institute. Lim Jong In, professor at Korea University, moderated the first session and Lee Daewoo, Director of the Department of Diplomatic Strategy Studies of the Sejong Institute, moderated the second session.

 

During the first session, Kwon Hun-Yeong​, professor at Korea University, and Lee Sangho, professor Daejeon University, presented, and Park Ro-byug, a veteran diplomat, and Hong Kyu Dok, professor at Sookmyung Women's University, discussed the topic of "South Korea's Cyber Security: Reviewing current status and threat, response strategies and capabilities" during the first session. During the second session, Shin Sohyun, Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, Choi Sung-Joo, former ambassador for international security affairs, Jang Kyu-hyun, professor at Korea University, and Kim Kibum, professor at Sungkyunkwan University, discussed the topic of "South Korea's Cybersecurity and International Cooperation​." Kim Jungsup, Vice President of Research and Education at the Sejong Institute, and Yang Un-Chul, Director of the Department of Unification Strategy Studies at the Sejong Institute, participated as observers.
